Tena koutou. I am going to do a speech about something that is special to me.
The taonga that are special to me are these medals I got them from my nana's mum. Nana’s mum got these medals from my great grandfather who fought in the Korean War. Mum said I'll need to get married and if I get a boy I could give these medals to him. Mum said she will keep them as safe as safe can be. I'll need to help too and instead of slacking off and being lazy, I’ll have to pull my weight.
My great grandfather was only 20 years old when he went to Korea and was 22 when he came home. He was bitten by a snake and became very sick from that. He also was bitten by a mosquito and ended up in hospital again, very sick with malaria which a lot of soldiers got. My great grandfather survived those things and died in 2004 at the age of 74.
You have been given a very precious legacy from your great grandfather. You'd better pull your weight and earn them! :) Your speech was very well presented Liam. Ms T.
